Board Member
Rose Acker took office in January 2005 and will serve through December 2010. She recently retired from the Hancock School District and is enthusiastically involved in activities with the Slidell Church of Christ. She and her husband, Walter, have five children – all previously graduated from the Hancock County School District. Acker notes that her love of the district compelled her to run for the office of the Board of Education. She looks forward to an active association in the district and the surrounding community for many years to come.
Bill
Billy Thomas took office September 2008 and will serve through December 2013. Thomas has over thirty-five years of experience as a public school educator, including several years as a physical education teacher in Hancock County. He has a bachelor’s degree in education, a master’s degree in health and safety, and an educational specialist degree in school administration. His goal is to be part of a team that provides the highest quality of education for each child in the Hancock County School District.
