To access your email account via the web, when prompted for your user name you must put in hcsd\username - then your password.  All username and passwords are the same as your network username and password for your email account.

 

 

Setting Up Your E-mail in Microsoft Outlook Express

If you are using Outlook Express, follow these steps to setup Hancock e-mail:

(Your email can only be accessed through outlook express on the computer you set it up on.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Click <Start> <All Programs> and find the <Outlook Express> link:

 

 

 

Once <Outlook Express> opens up, click no the <Tools> option located in the top menu bar.  Move cursor down to the <Accounts> option and click:

 

 

 

You will see 4 tabs on top of the ensuing screen.  Click with your mouse the tab <Mail>.  On the right hand side at the top, click <Add> and then highlight and click <Mail>.

 

 

 

For Display Name simply put your full Name and click <Next>

Input your <userid>, without the <> symbols followed by @hancock.k12.ms.us as shown:

 

Be sure to change the top option titles <My incoming Server is a> to IMAP.  Then simply type as shown and click <Next>.

 

Again type in your <userid> and password in the appropriate boxes.  Make SURE  you check the save password unless you want to enter it every single time you log on.  Click <Next> and you are ALMOST ready to roll!

 

Once you click finish and the Accounts page comes back up, once again, click the <mail> tab and then <properties> button:

 

You now need to once again go to the <Servers> tab.  Check the box under <Outgoing Mail Server> and hit <Okay>.  Close out and you are NOW ready to use your e-mail account.
