| Hancock County School District No Anticipated Tax Increase Bond Issue
Hancock County School Board adopted a resolution to call for a special election to approve the issuance of bonds to cover the cost of capital improvements which are necessary for safety and security at all schools. Because Hancock County has completed payment on the existing bonds used for the construction of East Hancock Elementary and Hancock Middle School originally issued in 1997, these bonds can be issued without raising school taxes which are the lowest on the coast. The election will be held on September 11, 2012.

10 % increase in enrollment & 8% increase in employees and over $50,000,000 in construction and repair since Fall 2005 with a 7.11 decrease in millage.
These bonds issued in the maximum amount of $16,000,000 will provide for necessary safety and security improvements at all schools, and the timing of the bond issue takes advantage of current low interest rates and construction costs.
The bonds issued would cover:
